Stopped by Featherly Park Sunday to check out the action and hang out with the Schwimmers on a beautiful sunny California day. It was a very strong turnout and a cool vibe all day. VW’s were spread out all over the place so I only made quick loop of the main area with the trusty iCam.
A group of us endured the wind and dirt storm to participate in the Bugorama Show at Fontana. We met up at Eric’s and caravanned to the track. BRS Racing was restricted to the 1/8 mile but there were plenty of racers navigating the gusts. Scott Bakken and Ron Fleming were racing and Kellie was racing Jason’s car in the recently renamed LRS (Ladies Racing Series), along with 9 other club cars in attendance. It eventually calmed down and turned out to be a great day to hang out.
A few of us met up at the Enderle Center Cars and Coffee a few weeks ago to meet up with a couple of Europeans that were visiting So Cal. Here’s a few pictures of the venue and caffeine junkies hanging out.
It’s that time of year again. Get your VW’s cleaned, tuned and fueled for BUG-IN Weekend. Kicking of the weekend is our DKP Cruise night held at Historic Downtown Garden Grove. This venue has become a family friendly favorite since the closing of Nick’s Super Burger. Plenty of shade, lot’s of food and beverage choices as well as shops for the spouses. Enter at the intersection of Main Street & Acacia pkwy. The promotor for the GG cruise night charges a $2.00 per car entry fee (this is collected for all GG cruise nights). There is also a 50/50 Raffle.
Out of respect for the businesses of Downtown Garden Grove, please do not show up before 4:00pm and try to park on the street early. There is plenty of parking for everyone!
Rain didn’t hold back this crowd from showing up to the 1st VW meetup at O’neill Headquarters in Irvine. There were food trucks, O’neill open house, live surf music, raffle tickets and free swag from shakapeople and Pierside Parts. The parking lot looked more like a OCTO meet, there were so many great busses. The event had a great vibe, can’t wait for the next one!
